My man is back for a short while from his first deployment! This first photo is of his carrier, the USS George Washington, in Tokyo Bay at around 7 AM.

It took a long time for them to pull in, or back in really. I had just enough time to ride my bike over from where I could see them above in the bay to the dock.

Can you find Anson in this photo? He's there.

A closeup crop to help. Find him? The only officer in the shot, top left. :)

Lots of families & friends waiting for them to disembark.

I thankfully didn't have to wait long for him to arrive. Sorry no photos of him or of us. Next time I'll be sure to get one of him in uniform. I do want to add though that my dramatic expectations of what his return would be like were quite incorrect. He texted to let me know about how long he would be and then there he was, walking down the brow and we quickly got out of there and headed home. No tears or long kisses and hugs; not here at least. There were too many people in a small space and having been together in Brisbane not even a month ago helped.

At around noon, about 3 hours later, we took a train ride to the Tokyo Narita Airport to pick up Anson's brother, Tim who is visiting us for a little over a week. We took an express airport train from Yokohama called the Narita Express, which, in our opinion, is the way to travel.

Once out of the Tokyo city area there are rice fields, a rare site for us as the greater Tokyo area is all city.

And below the long absent hubby.
