St. Augustine
I've been traveling again, and this time the hubby came with! Over the weekend following Thanksgiving we drove down to Casselberry Florida to see my parents. The visit was Anson's first and so enjoyable. There we spent time showing Anson around the area, visited with a friend, ate some delicious Thanksgiving dinner and a our trip wouldn't be complete without a trip to the used bookstore, or two.
On our drive home, on Monday, a spontaneous stop along the ocean turned into a nice early afternoon stroll around the historic Spanish town of St. Augustine. The town was founded in 1565 and has numerous old buildings.

I don't know the names of most of these places we saw but my favorite was an old hotel now Flagler College. The historic building had so many carved details and the clock tower at one end of the courtyard was playing christmas tunes.
The fort, Castillo de San Marcos, is located right near the downtown area. The only reason we even went in was because military were free. We got a year pass for it and other parks including the Grand Canyon.
This canon could shoot 1.2 miles!
